To these who regularly follow EB, then you probably remember the lesson of Alexander Dinerstein 3p about the 10 Go Proverbs or in case you do not, then I highly recommend that you check it out.
It is a big honor to have Catalin Taranu 5p on EB sharing his knowledge with people and especially his teaching style which provokes deep thinking and often challenges you to question all what you know about Go. I have had a lot of my games reviewed by Catalin Sensei and I would say he pointed out a huge problem of my Go. I really like fighting and that’s what I purely love in Go, however, I had the problem that I felt that I am behind very early in the game, if I am not a head. It sounds ridiculous, isn’t it? The thing is that I hardly accepted “even” situations or being slightly behind in the early stage of the game. I wanted to provoke fights and dominate from very early in the game, something which cannot happen all the time. I didn’t even realize that I have this problem, it was just habit and it was hard for me to realize it. He pointed it out and we worked on it a lot for quite a long time. There is no doubt that Catalin’s strategy lessons are one of the 5 reasons why I became European U20 Champion last year.
EGF Academy is a great project which is going to be reconstructed soon, so I hope all of you will enjoy the lecture below !Follow me in social media:
